Federation Square in Melbourne is a fairly new development that’s right across from one of the main train stations in the city. On Tuesday, we went downtown to have a look around and enjoyed the entertainment at noon time.

There was a demonstration of solar concept cars in one section of the square – here are a couple of the more interesting designs.

After taking a tour around the city on the free circle tram line – it takes about an hour – we walked through some of the city parks and came across a conservatory. It was filled with gorgeous begonias, deeply colored coleus, tropical trees and plants and statuary.

Here’s Tom, being very patient while I examined everything in close detail.

Tom couldn’t resist this shot of an old gardener’s cottage in the park.
